TikTok Posting Guide
Welcome to our TikTok posting guide! This document will help you understand how to configure your TikTok posts using our platform.
To avoid being flagged as a bot or shadowbanned, new TikTok accounts need a "warm-up" period before connecting to third-party apps.
Recommended Warm-Up Process:
- For 5 straight days, spend time on TikTok watching, liking, and commenting on videos in your niche.
- Only connect your account after this warm-up period is complete.
- Connecting without warming up your account may limit its reach.
Supported Post Types
TikTok supports the following post types on our platform:
1. Video Posts
Video posts are the most common type of content on TikTok. You can upload videos directly from your device and share them with your audience.
- Maximum Duration: Videos can be up to 10 minutes long
- Supported Formats: MP4, MOV
- Maximum File Size: Up to 287MB (or 1.2GB for longer videos via TikTok Pro)
2. Image Posts / Slideshow
You can also create slideshows from multiple images. This is perfect for creating engaging visual content or turning photos into videos.
- Maximum Images: Up to 35 images per slideshow
- Image Formats: JPG, PNG
- Duration: Each image displays for 1-5 seconds (configurable in the TikTok app)
3. Analytics
Track the performance of your TikTok posts with our built-in analytics feature.
Post Settings
When creating a TikTok post on our platform, you can configure the following settings:
Post Mode
Choose how you want to post your content:
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Direct Post | Immediately post to your TikTok account |
| Draft (Media Upload) | Upload to TikTok inbox for manual editing |
Note: When using Draft mode (Media Upload), TikTok does not allow setting a title, caption, privacy settings, or other metadata via the API. The video will be uploaded to your TikTok inbox/drafts, and you must add the title, caption, and settings manually within the TikTok app before publishing.
Title
Add a custom title to your TikTok post to make it more discoverable.
- Maximum Characters:
- Video posts: 2,200 characters
- Image/Slideshow posts: 90 characters
If you leave this field empty, the default post title will be used.
Privacy Settings
Control who can view your TikTok video:
| Privacy Level | Description |
|---|---|
| Public | Everyone can view your video |
| Friends | Only your mutual followers can view |
| Followers | Only your followers can view |
| Private | Only you can view the video |
Interactions
Control how viewers can interact with your content:
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Disable Duet | Prevent others from duetting (reacting side-by-side) your video |
| Disable Comments | Turn off comments on your video |
| Disable Stitch | Prevent others from stitching (reusing your video) |
Video Cover
For video posts, you can set a custom cover image by specifying a timestamp.
- Timestamp: Enter the time in milliseconds (e.g., 1000ms = 1 second)
- Default: 1,000ms (1 second into the video)
Brand & Content
TikTok requires content creators to disclose certain types of content:
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Paid Partnership (Brand Content) | Enable this when you're promoting third-party brands and getting paid |
| Promote Own Business (Brand Organic) | Enable this when promoting your own business |
| AI-Generated Content | Enable this if your content was generated using AI |
Best Practices
1. Optimize Your Title
- Use relevant keywords to improve discoverability
- Include relevant hashtags (#)
- Keep titles engaging and descriptive
2. Choose the Right Privacy Level
- Most content should be set to "Public" for maximum reach
- Use "Private" for drafts or content you don't want others to see yet
- "Friends" or "Followers" for more intimate content
3. Engagement Settings
- Keep interactions enabled for better engagement
- Disable Duet/Stitch if you're worried about content being reused
- Consider disabling comments for sensitive content
4. Brand Disclosures
- Always enable "Paid Partnership" for sponsored content
- Use "Promote Own Business" when showcasing your products/services
- Mark AI-generated content for transparency
Troubleshooting
Video Upload Issues
- File too large: Compress your video or split it into smaller parts
- Unsupported format: Convert to MP4 or MOV
- Upload failed: Check your TikTok account connection and try again
Settings Not Applying
- Make sure you're using "Direct Post" mode
- Some settings only apply to video posts, not image slideshows
Analytics Not Showing
- Analytics data may take 24-48 hours to appear after posting
- Make sure your TikTok account is connected properly
